Established in 1996 as the agency to promote Manchester on a national and international stage, Marketing Manchester became The Tourist Board for Greater Manchester on 1st April 2004 and as such, has four clearly defined roles: to provide destination leadership, to attract visitors, to support the industry and to service visitors.
We are now seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to assist our Tourism Development team in their work planning, coordinating and delivering activity on a number of tourism projects.
The postholder’s main duty will be to provide excellent administrative support to the team and duties will include updating the corporate website and databases, helping to prepare presentations and reports and coordinating arrangements for meetings and events. In addition to administrative work, there will also be opportunities to get involved in research and project work.
The postholder will work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and will therefore require excellent communication skills. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise your workload effectively, you will be a team player who has a flexible approach.
We are looking for a proactive individual who has strong IT skills, especially using word processing and spreadsheets. You will ideally have experience gained within an office environment or an administrative support role. An interest in the marketing / tourism industry would be advantageous.
